Texas is iconic for many reasons. It's shape may be the best one.

There's a scene in the movie Fandango when Phillip, one of the main protagonists in the film, asks out loud to no one in particular, "Texas is really ugly, you know that? I mean, what could anyone possibly like about this state?"

Dorman, one of the offbeat supporting actors, responds (some of his only dialogue in the entire movie), "I like the way it's shaped."

Indeed. Texas has a nice shape.

Texas, Texas, Texas. We have some work to do. We need to live up to our reputation – not live down to it. We are the "friendly" state after all. Luckily, we have the best roads for road trips. It might be time to take a long road trip this weekend, and get lost in our minds. Cheers!
