Working on continuously improving my Summer vibes.

Working on continuously improving my Summer vibes.

Posted on June 7, 2023

I encountered the concept of Kaizen, a Japanese word that means “good change” seven months into being home bound and utterly lethargic during the pandemic. Remember that time? Seems like a lifetime ago.

Kaizen is best known as a philosophy of continuous improvement that many Japanese companies follow. Learning about the philosophy helped me out of my pandemic doldrums. Basically, it helped me get my fat ass off the couch and start working out again.

It’s very similar to the concept of 1% better that is championed by many in the motivational community. Just 1% better everyday adds up over time. It works with money too as illustrated by the concept of compounding interest. When you are feeling swamped by ambitious goals, adopt Kaizen and move forward with little steps towards massive change.

Speaking of change. I refreshed my Kaizen type with a flat nib pen, squared off the edges, and created some new shirts on the super soft Belle+Canvas T-Shirts. Check ‘em out. It’s a reminder that all it takes to reset your point of view is a tiny shift in your perception.

Everybody needs a refresh from time-to-time. Here’s to you having an epic weekend!

Cheers!
