In 1999, I was lucky to be able to spend three days exploring the beautiful city of Amsterdam. As a design nerd, I have always been fascinated by the visual aesthetic of the Dutch. It was a bucket list trip. One day, I stumbled upon an open air market and bought a folio of vintage postage stamps. I'm not a stamp collector, but this fascinating book was filled with stamps that showcased Dutch design going back decades. I had to have it. 

I scanned, enlarged, and manipulated some of my favorite stamps and created this digital art specifically for t-shirts. The shirt above features a stamp that was postmarked in 1968!
