All You Need is Love and Baseball!
I have my pencils sharp and my two favorite scorebooks ready to roll.
We're six games into the Lone Star Conference season, and the scrappy St. Marys Rattlers are off to a good start at 6-2. The mighty Central Catholic Buttons hit the road and travel to Houston this weekend for games in an invite-only event for the top teams in Houston, a benefit of being the defending TAPPS Divison One State Champion. I look forward to a nice road trip for a doubleheader on Friday at the Woodlands and another double-dipper on Saturday at St. Thomas. Central will be a tough out this season. I can't wait to watch the season unfold – Garrett's Senior Year. There are beers to drink, drama to unfold, and tears to shed.
Baseball has been very good to me.
Here are some things I love that help me keep track of and memorialize each season. Like I always say, "When the pencil is moving, my mouth is shut." Scorebooks are a great way to keep track of the comings and goings of the season and serve as a keepsake for those favorite players you are following around.

Eeephus League
I've got six of the Halfliner Scorebooks from the Eeephus League. It's the pinnacle of scorebook design, production, and craft. The Halfliner is meticulously designed, and the details are evocative of the game. Bethany's love for the game is excluded from every page. A gorgeous work of art, the Halfliner is a must-have for anyone who takes the game seriously or enjoys the feeling of a well-designed book. From the website to the packaging to the beautiful finished product wrapped carefully and carefully packed with care, the Halfline is the best Baseball scorebook. The joy of using these scorebooks is unparalleled. Highly recommended.

The Square Scorebook
I own Square Scorebook #1,473. I know this because each Square Scorebook is hand-numbered. I have Square Scorebook #24 tucked away in a memories chest. These sweet, finely designed, and crafted with love and care are the most hardworking Baseball scorebooks on the market. They are just the perfect size to tote around, too. It's a special time to order and receive one each year. Eric goes out of his way to make you feel special: I've saved his handwritten notes he sends every year – I feel like a part of the process. It's cool. These Square Scorebooks are practical, well-made, and hardy for hot summer days. This year's new option features upgraded cover options and new paper made especially for pens. They are gorgeous. You might as well get two of them while you are at it: one for you, one to give as a gift. The personal connection with these scorebooks makes you feel like a valued member of the Square Scorebook community. Highly recommended.

FloSports
For $150, we have access to all the LoneStar Conference Baseball games and other DII, DIII, and JUCO games around the country. The feed varies from facility to facility, but the quality and ease of navigation through the app are excellent. We cast Brody's road games on the TV and make an evening out of it. The best part is the local announcers and color commentary from all these far-flung places. It's so much fun to listen and watch the broadcasts with the local announcers. It's a great alternative to all the polished and high-tech broadcasts on regular TV or other streaming services. If you love Baseball, there are great games to watch, good leagues to follow, and humourous announcing on FloSports. Using FloSports is not just about watching games, it's about having fun and enjoying the sport.

Gameday Baseball Notebooks
I give Brody and Garrett a notebook for their Baseball bags or backpacks every year. These soft touch cover notebooks work well for them to keep track of their efforts and to make notes about the games. They are serious about the game and embrace the mental challenges of playing Baseball. Taking notes, and keeping track of your performances helps. These old-school analog notebooks are a low-tech and easy way of keeping tabs on their games. If you love the game, it only makes sense to document and write about it. Check 'em out here.
